HearABook started life when Ritch tried to purchase a chain of book stores that specialized in Talking Books. It was a great opportunity, but he couldn't get the financing and lost the deal. But, out of it came a fun hobby project that you might enjoy too. Check it out. On the HearABook site you´ll find reviews of audio books, both old and new. Ritch isn't an expert... just opinionated. Great Outdoors was started in the 1980s as an alternative way to meet people in a safe and sane environment. They organized camping trips and other activities for their members and the organization grew. It now has four active chapters and a new one is starting in San Diego.
Orange County/Long Beach is the local chapter of the Great Outdoors. They have about 75 members and try to have at least one camping trip and one day event each month. As you can see however, sometimes they even have more.
